The DS-2700 is a digital dictation device that simplifies the process of recording notes, meetings, and interviews. It eliminates the need for tapes and offers easy editing with its slide-switch operation. Specifically tailored for small legal or business practices, it provides versatile recording options with built-in stereo microphones that offer both Dictation and Conference modes. You can also select from three microphone sensitivity options to further customize your recording experience.

The device features low-noise omni-directional microphones with a built-in shock absorber to reduce handling noise. Additionally, the microphone housing incorporates a triple-layered pop-filter that blocks wind noise and plosives when speaking. For classic dictation, the main microphone records in an omni-directionality mode, while conference recording controls the directionality of the two microphones into a 90° layout, enabling high-quality stereo capture.

The DS-2700 uses the digital speech standard (DSS) format, which promises effective compression without compromising quality in digital voice capture. It allows for quick file editing and uses meta information to facilitate collaboration and automatic processing. The PCM format, with its minimal compression, ensures exceptional quality and compatibility with a variety of playback tools. The widely utilized MP3 format serves as an excellent choice for storing consumer audio and enables easy transfer/playback of music on digital audio players.

The device also includes the VCVA function, which efficiently manages memory by pausing recording during quiet intervals and automatically restarting when it detects sound exceeding a preset threshold. This feature optimizes playback efficiency and prolongs recording time.

With the DS-2700, you can insert up to 32 Index Marks into an audio file while recording or playing back, allowing you to identify crucial or noteworthy segments of your dictation. The device offers three recording options - Insert mode, Overwrite mode, and Append mode - and a New File creation button, so you can add recordings to existing files and start new recordings when you're ready.

The DS-2700 is designed for easy operation with an intuitive interface and a large color LCD screen. It includes built-in memory for storage, expandability via SD card media for additional capacity, and support for additional microphones and headphones. It also features a live recording monitor and an easily accessible, intuitive menu system. With 2GB of built-in memory and support for external SD cards up to 32GB (available separately), you can easily transfer your recordings to your PC using the provided micro-B USB cable.

In addition to headphones, you can connect boundary, shotgun, or lavalier microphones for specific situations. The included Lithium-ion battery provides an impressive 56 hours of battery life and can be easily recharged by connecting the device to a PC or a compatible USB charger.
